🌟 PSAT Tips & Scholarships
The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) isn’t just a “practice test” — it plays a crucial role in college admissions and scholarship opportunities.
-
Familiarize yourself with the SAT format and question types
The PSAT and SAT have very similar question styles. It’s the best way to experience a test that closely resembles the real SAT. Students who take the PSAT often find the SAT much easier to prepare for. -
Opportunity to earn scholarships
High school juniors who perform exceptionally well on the PSAT/NMSQT may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program, where they can compete for at least $2,500 scholarships, and in some cases, larger corporate or university-sponsored awards — even full scholarships! -
Identify strengths and weaknesses
The PSAT score report breaks down performance by section, helping students understand where to focus their study efforts. -
Catch the attention of colleges
High scorers often receive outreach emails and letters from universities, opening doors to early admissions opportunities.
